We are a small local bookstore, and we keep this simple: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and we only use it to run the shop and this website.
When you contact us
The contact form sends us your name, email address, topic, and message. We store them on our own web server and use them only to reply to you.
When you sign up for news
If you sign up, we keep your email address so we can tell you about opening day, events, and store news. Every email will include a way to unsubscribe, or you can ask us to remove you at any time.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they found us (for example a search engine or social media). It uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location. See Google's privacy policy, or opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
We also partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to see how visitors use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay, so we can improve it. Website usage data is captured using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies. Clarity hides what you type into forms. For more about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.
Shopping cart
If online shopping is turned on, your cart is kept in a temporary session cookie that disappears when you close your browser.
Questions or requests
To ask what we have about you, or to have it deleted, email us at hello@orangecatbooks.com or use the contact form.
